Loi Krathong (also written as Loy Krathong or Loy Gratong, Thai: ลอยกระทง, IPA: [lɔːj kràʔ tʰoŋ]) is a festival celebrated annually throughoutThailand and certain parts of Laos and Burma (in the Shan State). The name could be translated "Floating Crown" or "Floating Decoration", and comes from the tradition of making buoyant decorations which are then floated on a river.
Brownish in color, the creature has claw feet. The rest of the body looks pretty much like other lion based creatures. The origin of its name is quite uncertain. In Chinese, however, the word "Loto" means Camel.
